AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE
Ambassadors serve as official representatives of the Carroll County Chamber of
Commerce. They welcome new members with a phone call or visit and help with introductions
at events. Ambassadors also keep in touch with existing members to provide feedback
on Chamber services.

Kirsten Beck, Expressway Office Solutions
Staff
liaison: Fran Bartels Meetings: 1st Thursday of each month
at 8:30 AM in the Chamber office Qualifications: Good interpersonal
skills and frequent attendance at Chamber events. Must be a member of the Chamber
for 3 months before submitting an application to be an Ambassador. BUSINESS
& EDUCATION COMMITTEE
The committee nutures the
working relationship between the business and education communities. It works
closely with the Carroll County Public School System and its Career & Technology
Education Center, plans the Outstanding Teacher Awards Reception and Ceremony
(April) and the annual Job Shadow Day (November)

EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEE
The Executive Committee, which is made
up of the Chairman of the Board and six additional directors, meets several times
a year on operational matters.

FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Finance Committee is responsible for monitoring the Chamber's financial position
and forecasting its future needs. The Finance Committee reviews the annual budget,
reports financial performances and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. Chairman:

CORPORATE CHALLENGE COMMITTEE
.Members
plan, coordinate and market the Chamber's annual Corporate Challenge.
The Challenge offers players an opportunity to socialize with business associates,
and to develop new relationships. Proceeds from the challenge help fund the Chamber's
programs and services.

Meetings: 2nd Wednesday of each month at an 8:30 AM at the Chamber office.
Qualifications: Interest in sporting competitions, marketing and
developing relationships with members
HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE
The Human Resources Committee, composed of HR directors and professionals of large and mid-sized organizations in Carroll County, plans events and contributes articles for posting on the Chamber website to help Chamber members of all sizes manage their human resources more effectively.

LEADERSHIP
CARROLL COMMITTEE
The Leadership Carroll Committee
coordinates Leadership Carroll, a program designed to develop emerging and existing
community leaders. The Leadership Carroll program is a partnership of the Chamber
and Carroll Community College.

LEGISLATIVE
COMMITTEE
Members representing various business
categories serve as the Chamber's voice on legislative matters. Committee members
review bills online on their own time and make recommendations on new laws and
regulations. They meet weekly during Maryland's legislative session.

Meetings:
Every Monday during the legislative session (Jan - April) at an 11:30 AM lunch
meeting at Harry's Main Street Grille, Westminster.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee is an ad hoc group which identifies and recommends qualified,
dedicated members to serve in positions of Chamber leadership.

PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE This committee selects
topics and secures speakers for member metings and seminars

Meetings: The committee meets 5 times per year on
Monday at 8:00 AM in the Chamber office. Schedule is given to members upon joining.
Qualification:
Awarness of current issues facing the business community and willingness to help
identify and contact speakers who can address those issues expertly.
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE
Members use their writing skills to promote the Chamber's events and programs
throughout the year. They contribute articles for the online magazine, ChamberWORKS.

Meetings: The committee meets occasionaly to coordinate assignments.

CHARLES
D. SCHAFFER SCHOLARSHIP ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors
from Carroll County high schools selected by the Advisory Committee.

BUSINESS FAIR COMMITTEE
The Business Fair Committee plans and conducts the annual Business Fair,
which allows members to promote their products and services to the community.

2nd Friday of each month at 9:30 AM in the Chamber office Qualifications:
Interest and skill in marketing and networking with a variety of businesses.
WINTER GALA DINNER DANCE COMMITTEE
The committee plans, organizes and markets the annual dinner dance, proceeds of
which benefit the Charles D. Schaffer Scholarship Fund. Each year the Scholarship
Fund makes awards to graduating high school students seeking business degrees
at Carroll Community College and McDaniel College.
