AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE
Ambassadors serve as official representatives of the Carroll County Chamber of
Commerce. They welcome new members with a phone call or visit and help with introductions
at events. Ambassadors also keep in touch with existing members to provide feedback
on Chamber services. Chairman:

liaison: Fran Bartels Meetings: 1st Thursday of each month
at 8:30 AM in the Chamber office Qualifications: Good interpersonal
skills and frequent attendance at Chamber events. Must be a member of the Chamber
for 3 months before submitting an application to be an Ambassador. BUSINESS
& EDUCATION COMMITTEE The committee nutures the
working relationship between the business and education communities. It works
closely with the Carroll County Public School System and its Career & Technology
Education Center, plans the Outstanding teacher Awards Reception and Ceremony
(April) and the annual Job Shadow Day (November) Chairman:

COUNTY RELATIONS COMMITTEE The
County Relations Committee works to keep Chamber members informed about proposed
local legislation and regulations, taking action when requested by the Board of

COMMITTEE The Executive Committee, which is made
up of the Chairman of the Board and six additional directors, meets several times
a year on operational matters. Chairman:

Kim Rosier FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Finance Committee is responsible for monitoring the Chamber's financial position
and forecasting its future needs. The Finance Committee reviews the annual budget,
reports financial performances and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. Chairman:

GOLF COMMITTEE .Membres
plan, coordinate and market the Chamber's annual Golf Tournament.
The tournament offers players an opportunity tosocialize with business associates,
and to develop new relationships. Proceeds from the tournament help fund the Chamber's
programs and services. Chairman:

2nd Wednesday of each month at an 11:30 AM lunch meeting. Location
of the meeting varies. Qualifications: Interest in golf, marketing and

CARROLL COMMITTEE The Leadership Carroll Committee
coordinates Leadership Carroll, a program designed to develop emerging and existing
community leaders. The Leadership Carroll program is a partnership of the Chamber
and Carroll Community College. Chairman:

COMMITTEE Members representing various business
categories serve as the Chamber's voice on legislative matters. The committee
reviews bill online on their own time and makes recommendations on new laws and
regulations. They meet weekly during Maryland's legislative session. Chairman:

COMMITTEE The Membership Committee assists in
increasing the strength of the Chamber through membership recruitment. Chairman:

NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee is an ad hoc group which identifies and recommends qualified,
dedicated members to serve in positions of Chamber leadership. Chairman:

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE This committee selects
topics and secures speakers for member metings and seminars Chairman:

Richard Haddad Meetings: The committee meets as need on the 3rd
Monday of the month at 8:00 AM in the Chamber office. Qualification:
Awarness of current issues facing the business community and willingness to help
identify and contact speakers who can address those issues expertly.
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE
members use their writing skills to promote the Chamber's events and programs
throughout the year. They contribute articles for the quarterly magazine, ChamberWORKS. Chairman:

Carroll Hospital Center Staff liaison: Richard
Haddad Meetings: The committee meets occasionaly at Carroll Hospital
Center tocoordinate assignments. Qualifications: Interest and skill
in interviewing and writing CHARLES
D. SCHAFFER SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION The Charles
D. Schaffer Scholarship Foundation manages the funds for the Chamber's scholarship
program to ensure maximum yield. Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors
from Carroll County high schools. Chairman:

SPRING BUSINESS FAIR COMMITTEE
The Business Fair Committee plans and conducts the annual Business Fair in March,
which allows members to promote their products and services to the community.

Interest and skill in marketing and networking with a variety of businesses.
WINTER GALA DINNER DANCE COMMITTEE
The committee plans, organizes and markets the annual dinner dance, proceeds of
which benefit the Charles D. Schaffer Scholarship Foundation. Each year the Schoalrship
Funds makes awards to graduating high school students seeking business degrees
at Carroll Community College and McDaniel College. Chairman:
