There is no application fee for a Residential Cooperative residential electricity account or a residential natural gas account. If your home-based business is not a current member of the Chamber or if you are not an individual member of the Chamber, or if you are not employed by or a retireee of a current Chamber member, your application for participation in the cooperative will not be processed.
The cooperative application fee pays for the administrative costs of the energy purchasing coopeative in selecting a licensed energy supplier who is offering to sell electricity or natural lgas at a lower price than the Standard Offer Service rates offered by local utility company. Application fees are not refundable.
The cooperative will be monitoring the market and working with numerous licensed energy suppliers to select a supplier. The typical contract for is 12, 24 or 36 months. Once a supplier is selected, you will receive a contract offer directly from that energy supplier. Acceptance of the supplier’s contract will ensure budget stability throughout the term of the contract. However, if you do not accept the contract offer you must reapply.
Participation in the Cooperative requires continuous membership in the Chamber of Commerce during the full term of the Agreement. If the Chamber membership of your employer or your home-based business, or your individual membership in the Chamber has lapsed, or if neither you nor your employer has ever been a member of the Chamber, you or your employer must join or rejoin in order to participate in a cooperative. Submission of the application for participation in the cooperative does not include fees for membership in the Chamber.
Annual dues for an Individual Chamber Membership are lower than Business Membership dues. Chamber Business Membership dues are based on business size categories, which are determined by the number of full-time employees.
