The Honorable Thomas M. Middleton
Finance Committee
3 East, Miller Senate Building
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Senator Middleton:
SB609 would provide a credit for an employer or insurer for specified payments to a covered employee for temporary total disability benefits under specified circumstances and during a specified period.
The Legislative Committee of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce supports this bill. This bill appropriately balances the worker's need for uninterrupted benefits during the delay against the insurer's position that they are not responsible for the delay because it is for an unrelated condition.
We therefore ask that your committee give this bill a favorable report.
Sincerely,
Richard Haddad
President
CC: Senator Larry E. Haines
