The CCPS Biz Challenge is BACK!
The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Startup Local and the Carroll County Public School System for the second year to host the CCPS Biz Challenge! Again this year, Carroll County high school students have the opportunity to formulate and present their new business ideas for a chance to win a $5,000 Startup Scholarship. Finalists will be selected from each Carroll County high school to present their ideas in front of a live audience and panel of judges at Winters Mill High School the evening of Wednesday April 29th.
Applications have been open since the beginning of the school year, and are due by March 1. It is FREE to apply! For more information, to submit an application, or to buy a ticket to the live event, visit www.ccpsbizchallenge.com. If you know a Carroll County public high school student, please make sure they know about this outstanding opportunity!
Last year, an incredible 53 students applied, representing every high school in the county. After the ten finalists pitched their ideas, senior Brooke Knorr from Century High School won the scholarship with her idea “Baker’s Playroom.” Details of the other applicants, photos from the event, and more can be seen at ccpsbizchallenge2014.startuplocal.biz.
The CCPS Biz Challenge is made possible by local business sponsors. This year’s Founding Sponsors include Gibble Enterprises Holdings and Terry’s Tag & Title. If you would like to show your support for student entrepreneurship and sponsor this event, please contact Jason@StartupLocal.biz
