The 2014 Carroll Biz Challenge finalists have been chosen! For the first time in Biz Challenge history, there will be 7 finalists pitching their startups LIVE at Cre-a-tv Studios during the November 20th finale. With a record breaking 27 applications this year, the 2014 Carroll Biz Challenge Advisory Board had their work cut out for them in narrowing the group down. In the end, 5 just wouldn’t cut it

This year’s finale will boast more pizazz than in years past, and promises to be a fun night for all. Hosted at Cre-a-tv Studios in Eldersburg, the night kicks off with a 4:30pm cocktail hour sponsored by GSE Systems. Doors open for the event at 5:30, and the show begins at 6pm. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts catered by Chili’s. Tickets are just $30, or $25 for those who can’t make it to the cocktail hour. Come out and show your support for these incredible local entrepreneurs!

These bold Carroll County entrepreneurs will be competing for the $5,000 Grand Prize, as well as the $500 People’s Choice Award sponsored by VoxPop Communications. This year’s competition also offers a $2,500 Downtown Award sponsored by Economic Development and the Big Idea Award sponsored by Gibble Enterprises Holdings, both of which are open to all 27 applicants and will be presented at the finale.
About the Carroll Biz Challenge
The Carroll Biz Challenge is a local business competition, which offers Carroll County, Maryland entrepreneurs an accessible opportunity to pitch their new business ideas to compete for a $5,000 cash prize. This annual event has become the centerpiece of the community’s efforts to inspire local innovation and entrepreneurs. It is hosted by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and powered by Startup Local.
